P R E T T Y. P O N I E S

Dress; Sportsgirl. Headdress; Thrifted.

I'd really love to say that this little shoot was inspired by Lana Del Ray and her mournful crooning in 'Born To Die' but A) I don't really like Lana Del Ray and B) I don't have the lips to pull off anything inspired by her. So let's just say this shoot was heavily inspired by nostalgia and heartbreak.
I am such a sucker for lighting like this just before the sun completely sets the world is bathed in such gorgeous light and you can't help but feel like you're perpetually trapped in a Sophia Copolla film, but then the sun disappears and you're simply back to rolling around in the grass looking like an idiot. I never really got into the 'under wear as outwear' trend, but the moment I laid eyes on this Sportsgirl dress I knew I had to have it. In my opinion it is such a beautiful, subtle take on the trend and only alludes to lingerie and nakedness through the asymmetrical layering and delicate lace. It's also incorporating one of my favourite-ever-trends-of-all-time the fishtail skirt, which you can't really see but is there in all it's fishy glory. I must say I can't think of a much better combination, pretty dresses and even prettier ponies.

  1. Is that a shetland pony!? :O I'm freaking out over here. And I love the dress! I didn't even realize it was supposed to be "undies" Haha

    1. It's actually a miniature pony. They're even smaller than shetlands! We have two, unfortunately only one of them decided to play today :)

    1. This is a lame attempt at a 'comment' in comparison to the essays you normally write haha. I'm fairly happy with the 'sun-drenched' effect that we were trying to achieve.
