(From top to bottom; Cutest little sundress with metallic flats and smart little socks, sporting the ridiculously popular blunt bob, cat hat...need I say more?, crushed velvet and red wine colours, colour blocking (I promise they didn't tie me up regularly), velvet dress with a spotted peter pan collar, cute sundress with mary janes and bobby socks)
I have often wondered where I picked up my interest in fashion and styling, neither my mum, my dad nor my sister have ever really been interested in fashion, not that they dress like slobs, and so I've often wondered where I got it from. It's been raining here for three days straight and I'm going a little stir crazy, so this afternoon I pulled out all our old photo albums and went through them all. As I was taking a long stroll down memory lane, something hit me: I was a well dressed child, considering that it was the 90's, an era not exactly remembered for its fantastic fashions, I don't look too bad.
So this is a post to say, thank you. Thank you mum and dad for allowing me to go through childhood without the embarrassing outfits and stupid hats that all other children seem to be plagued with. I can now safely say that at my 21st birthday party there will be no cringe worthy photos, because you both made sure that when I stepped out...I stepped out in style.
And no wonder! Check out the handsome pair below, my mum is sporting the oh-so-80's blue suit, while my dad is in the oh-so-hideous mullet (but still looking dapper)
You look like your mum bet you hear that all the time tho.
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely too see these photos of your childhood ^^ You were so stylish ^^ I looked embarrassing as I child. I remember having these purple, fantasy print stretch leggings/pants, they were awful and I had to wear them all-the-time 'cause I didn't have anything else... x
ReplyDeleteOh, sweets photos :)
ReplyDeleteGreets :D
Your a carbon copy of your mum and I thought that was Jason Donovan from back in the day(from T.V programme Neighbours) until you pointed out it was your dad. What a hansome couple. x
