Last night I was reminded why, generally speaking, I stay far away from pubs. A couple of my friends got a gig at one the local pubs so I went along to support/watch them. It was loud, squashed and smelt so bad. I came really close to having a drink spilt all down my new favourite trousers and after about an hour it only got worse, as people drank more and more, their behavior just got worse and worse. So I quickly ducked out the nearest door and gratefully went home and had a thorough shower. This morning when I recreated my outfit to take photos for you all, I was wondering what the heck smelt so bad! I was later horrified to realise it was ME! My clothes all smelt like stale beer and dirty cigarettes. So basically the whole experience just cemented why I, generally speaking, stay away from pubs...always have, always will.
Anywho! This cardigan, what can I say apart from the fact that it's super warm and soft and like a big cuddle from mum, or dad, or boyfriend, or girlfriend...really just anyone that you enjoy getting a cuddle from. When I wear it I feel like being all cute and sheepish like the cute little kidlets in this here video (see these are the sorts of ads we have in Australia). And plus it's blue, and I love blue!
PS I apologize for the slightly manic quality of my writing tonight, I've had a few too many coffees -buzzzzz-
Those shoes are fabulous...I want a pair!
ReplyDeleteI hate pubs too but I love your shoes!!

Oh I love this whole look! I have fall shopping on my mind, and this trouser/cardigan combination is just perfect for the season. And I have lost many a good pair of shoes in a pub. xx
ReplyDeleteI also dislike going to smelly, smokey cafés! and I believe the politicians here in Belgium did too, cause since about two weeks smoking is illigal in ANY public building, incluiding the pubs and cafés! totally awesome. But pretty weird. bars without smoke.... anyways, I love this outfit! These trousers looks SO good on you!

i hate it when the smell of alcohol and cigarettes stick to your clothes. . . espeacially when your clothes are dry clean only. . .
ReplyDeletelove the shoes and the cardigan looks cuddly indeed!!!
I'm the same way with pubs. My boyfriend was in a band for awhile and he kept getting reoccurring gigs at one pup that was always completely packed and gross. Was so happy to finally find a bar in an artsy neighborhood that I don't hate. Old black and white movies playing in the background and lotttsss of tables. haha.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Love your outfit. especially the trousers! I never have the confidence to pull off a pair like those, but you do it beautifully.
I may be terribly late on the bandwagon but I LOVE your new blog header. It reminds me of Fantastic Mr. Fox!
