I've never been one to follow fashion trends, with the exception of the maxi skirt which I took up wholeheartedly. In fact when it comes to trends I can be a little bit obnoxious, refusing to wear something just because everyone else is. But when I saw the floral print pant trend despite the fact that every blogger under the sun currently owns a pair, I couldn't resist. I've never been a huge fan of print but there is something about the rather odd combination of large, bright prints and pants that just gets me. Normally we associate print pieces with blouses or dresses and pants are reserved for quiet denims and neutrals. I personally think it's time we let our pants speak up and I'd much prefer if mine do so in fashionable florals. Once I opted for this bright print there was no way I could allow it to be toned down with a simple black blouse, I grabbed the loudest colour I could find and teamed them together and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I think the colours work so harmoniously together and instead of the two pieces clamoring for attention they coexist in the same vibrant environment quite happily. With so much colour on it's easy to have a fantastic day, especially when you're spending it driving around with your family searching for beautiful spots like this old church. I tell you, days like this make all the bad ones worth it.
