I have never attended an official Fashion Week before so when I was packing for Sydney I had no idea what to wear, trawling street style blogs didn't seem to do much good either because all I saw were prints, prints, prints. I thought I'd take a punt and pack my favourite cut offs, once they're teamed with heels they don't look as 'Homeless Man circa 95'. As it turned out, even my most fanciest outfit seemed majorly under dressed in comparison to some (I kid you not there was a lady in a ball gown). But atleast on the last day of MBFWA, when my feet felt as if they were dangling over the fires of hell and my eyes just wanted to stay shut, I was comfortable in all my ripped glory.
Normally this isn't something I would wear, I tend to be a bit more lady like and 'polished' but I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out and quite enjoyed a day of feeling like I had a single ounce of street cred. But then again I think the pointy toe heels may have given me away, as well my tendency to squeal a lot.
This utility jacket has surprised me over the past few weeks with its ability to look good with everything and the amount of body heat it keeps in. The temperatures are rapidly dropping and I've been relishing the fact that I can start packing on the layers. This coat is lightweight but also a little bit big on me so I can cram a lot under it and maximize the area of skin being covered by atleast eight layers. I was actually this far away from purchasing thermal underwear the other day...it's really sad guys.
I hope you've all been enjoying my show reviews for MBFWA, I've been quite lax in getting them up so apologies if you are enjoying them and are waiting for more.
Love the necklace, LOVE the shorts.

I love this look - there's something so bold and fun about jean shorts and heels and the striped top and gold rings on your fingers are a perfect touch as well.

I love the look. The torn jeans look very cool when paired with the heels and jewelry :] I also see how the jacket could go with a whole bunch of outfits.

Very well put together. I've been wanting to wear cut offs like those, it's not so much that they are like ghost white, they are so out of shape. I've been saying I'm going to go to the gym, but I keep procrastinating. Posts like this always inspire me, so I'm just going to do it! Awesome blog and awesome post! I'm following via GFC, Twitter, Facebook and Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome day!

I like how you put everything together here. That jacket is oversized yet also cinches at waist so it's not totally "I'm eight and I'm wearing my dad's coat". The heels are a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteI finally understood photographers and their safari vests/jackets when I was covering a fashion event last week. I was trying to sketch, shoot pictures and keep all my tools handy and what I really needed were some pockets! Your jacket would suit the bill chicly!
