C L A S H I N G

Top; Jay Jays. Skirt; Thrifted. Blazer; Lovely Girl. Shoes; Unknown

When it comes to fashion, I'll admit, I'm not all that adventurous. I love styling, and I love trying to come up with something interesting and visually pleasing everyday but things like clashing prints, double denim and colour blocking, all those things that you're not supposed to do, kind of scare me. I've attempted to tackle these tricky trends a few times and have always failed dismally and I have no shame in saying that I am a safe dresser
I was pleasantly surprised when I hesitantly tried these two pieces on together and they actually looked alright. I think the fact that the colour palettes are so similar balances out the different prints and creates a lovely, harmonious combination. I think I can safely say my fear of clashing prints has been successfully thwarted, atleast where the safety zone of 'florals and stripes' lies.
Just quickly letting you all know that I received my media accreditation this afternoon and after I got over my initial excitement (I actually cried I was so happy) the thought popped into my head that I should be thanking each and every one of you guys! Every time someone reads something I've written, liked something I posted it has all led to this. So thank you, thank you, thank you I can't begin to describe how grateful I am for being given this opportunity.

  2. Embrace your sartorial simplicity! There's nothing better than a girl who can wear a knit and jeans and still make it look like, as Alex Perry would say, a million bucks *botoxed facial expression, sans eyebrow movement + pout*. While I'm not that big on clashing anything, this still works well. That blazer looks great too, but I can never wear anything over my shoulders without it falling off. And I carry way too much stuff to fit it all into a clutch to carry around. Ah, the trials and tribulations of being a fashion blogger. x

  4. So excited you got the media acreditiaiton, congrats! :)

I love the way you've mixed your prints. And I completely agree with "safe dressing" I fall back on the classics often. But they are classics for a reason, they look good. :) And also because I have had a few misses with the prints! haha.
