V E R S A T I L E.

Shorts; General Pants Co. Belt and trench coat; Vintage. Hat; Jay Jays. Shoes; Rubi Shoes

After what feels like years, but has most likely only been a few weeks, the search for the perfect akubra hat comes to a halt. I have been combing everywhere, including nearly the entire city of Melbourne, for a hat just like this, but the only ones I managed to find had price tags that were far too hefty for my little bank account. Two days ago I walked into my local JayJays and low and behold what did I find? The perfect maroon akubra hat.
So now, of course, it's a permanent installment on my head only coming off for showers and sleep, I'm too afraid to take it off in case it disappears into the hat abyss. Not really, but being serious it's scary the amount of things this hat goes with. The colour is super easy to match and the style allows it be either really casual or quite dressy. Which I suppose is the most you can hope for out of the humble accessory; versatility. And lately with this weather I really do require a quite deal of versatilitiness (I'm aware that's not a word) out of my wardrobe, one minute it's ridiculously muggy the next it's freezing cold and pouring down rain. And with this sudden chill I'm beginning to slowly remember the sacred art of layering, or as I like to call it 'hiding your dorky cardigans underneath your trench coat'. If Jack Frost continues to lurk around I think I'm going to have continue piling on the layers. Uh, hello! Summer? I think you might have missed us.

  5. Those shorts are adorable! Reminded me of a tablecloth I saw once, but you know, in the good way. I'm not quite big on hats, but the Bec & Bridge x Akubra look of the hat is an exception. And it's so darn cute what with the little bow. x

  6. I saw a girl in a fedora at the polo recently, in that same juicy hue that you're wearing and I instantly coveted it. You've inspired me to take up the search with this post. :)
