D U S K.

Blazer; Lovely Girl. Pants; Thrifted. Shoes; Just Because.

It's no secret that my favourite time to shoot is dusk, the light is soft and thin and it makes everything look simply heavenly. And the one thing that looks entirely magic when shot at this time of day is the ocean, the water reflects the soft sky and the horizon blurs creating the illusion that there is no divide between sea and sky, you're simply floating. So it was for obvious reasons I decided to take some quick outfit snaps at a beach down the road from me. I really love how the soft atmosphere contrasts nicely with the bold geometric pattern on these pants and the crisp shape of my blazer. I am yet to find a shape that flatters a woman's body as well as a tailored blazer does, it accentuates all the best bits and skims over all the bad, creating the perfect hourglass shape. I was not, unfortunately, blessed with a natural hour glass shape so it's nice to know that I can fake it with just a few simple items of clothing.
This weekend I am going to be crazy busy, and I'm super excited but also super nervous because I'll be styling and shooting my very first fashion editorial. Big thanks to everyone who has been helping me along the way, without your help I would have passed out by now. What started as a very small scale shoot turned into much more of a circus and I'm acting as ringmaster, magician and lion tamer so it's nice to know that I've got good people looking after the safety net.

  8. Firstly, WOW. The photos are amazing, and you've pulled off those pants perfectly (not quite sure that sounded right). Secondly, congratulations on your first editorial styling job! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Also, is it just me or do you have magical thrifting powers? I've yet to find anything as nice as some of the stuff you find in an op-shop. x

  11. WOW! I absolutely love your outfit! It's a so genius combination. Your pants are very cool.

Despite the fact that you must wear " boring " clothes at work, as you say, you can also make the best of it with accesoires or black blouses with sequins or else ! :)
No outfit has to be boring! :D
