Call me immature but whenever I wear these pants I can't help but walk around singing 'You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up...', this really isn't helped when I'm wearing white on top, only adding to the general coconut vibe and making me dream of days spent lounging around on a beach in the tropics. I actually got into an argument, I mean yelling and throwing stuff, this morning about whether or not you should wear colour in winter (which by the way you totally should). I argued that as long as you're warm then what does bright colour have to do with it, my opposition deemed bright colours 'inappropriate' for winter. So because I am a spiteful teenager, I of course pulled out the brightest, most obnoxious pair of pants I could find in my house and wore them all day long. I always find that things done from spite never end well but this outfit has to be one of my favourites. I think this coat, which doubles as a snood, sets off the tropical vibe of the pants perfectly and makes it definitely 'Winter Appropriate', proving that sometimes mother doesn't always know best. What I lack in life experience I make up for with my awesome dress sense and general charm.

I'm not sure if you guys have picked it up but I have definitely been approaching writing posts differently. After coming to the startling conclusion that I don't have a boss and therefore no one to please except myself I realised I can be snide and sarcastic if I want to, leave the serious writing for runway reviews and making plans for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. I do hope you're enjoying seeing a different and frankly more me style of writing, and if you don't well...frankly my dear I don't give a damn. (10 points to whoever knows where that quote is from)

P E A C H Y.

After having breakfast with my two friends Mags and Jacquii at Surry Hills hipster cafe Kawa, which I was none too impressed with, we quickly ducked outside to take some snaps. Surry Hills never fails to disappoint me when it comes to beautiful locations for photoshoots, every time you turn a corner there is something magnificent to stand in front of and pose, even if this happens to be a wall on the main street where loads of people stare at you funny. I guess as a blogger you quickly become desensitized to 'photo shoots' but I can imagine it would look strange to outsiders seeing normal girls posing up a storm on the sidewalk. It wasn't until I started editing photos that I realised I couldn't have planned a better backdrop if I'd tried! The tones in the stone, hey that rhymed, match the neutral tones in my shoes, jacket and peachy dress. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love accidental colour coordination, almost as much as I love wearing an outfit comprised of only autumnal/neutral colours. Simple and clean, thats how I like it.

Thanks to everyone who has been saying sweet things about my new hair, it feels almost liberating to finally have the length I've been dreaming of after a year and a half of ferociously growing it. Not quite sure how one grows their hair 'ferociously' but I'll leave that one up to you guys to ponder. I don't think that there is a lot I can say about this shirt that I haven't already said, basically it's just awesome. I mean it has elephants on it! Elephants! There is one thing however that I  have failed to mention about it and that's just how versatile the colours in the print are. The tones used just seem to go with everything and when I saw this vibrant wall of climbing flowers I knew it would bring out the orange tones in the shirt perfectly. This beautiful wall is almost mural like, such is its covering of flowers, I think the thing I love most about it though is its location. This gorgeous wall is actually a wire fence and is smack bang in the middle of a busy car park. I love it when you find random bits of beauty in the most unexpected places, although I did get some funny looks from people trying to park their cars!

It's official, Autumn is upon us. The slew of bloggers suddenly posting amongst fiery red trees and a sea of crackling leaves proves it. But can you really blame us? The trees at this time of the year just look stunning on camera and the palette only enhance whatever colours you happen to be wearing at the time. In this instance though I will admit I have colour coordinated, having enough time to think about coordinating colours of outfits with locations is the sad and lonely truth of my existence.  The last two days have been pure bliss, I've had two days off work and have spent them waking up late, lounging around in the morning with bed hair and coffee and then filling the afternoons with outfit shoots and blogging. The cherry on top of this wondrous cake will be a surprise appearance at an old friends 21st birthday tomorrow, I haven't seen her for close to two years so it will be amazing to not only surprise her on her birthday but just to see her full stop. My excitement may also have something to do with the fact that it's a masquerade and I got to spend the entire afternoon making a selection of masks to wear, I promise there will be photos of the chosen one.

I think every girl has that one piece in her wardrobe that she really, really loves but can never find anything to wear with, for me it was this skirt. It's such a beautiful midi skirt with tiny knife pleats and I've been dying to wear it out but every time I tried it on something just looked wrong. The other day when I found this Liz Jordan coat at an op shop I knew it would go perfectly, combined with a collared blouse underneath it's just the right balance between Coco and Karl. The shape and the classic tweed gives it a vintage edge, but the electric blue keeps it modern and fresh. A perfect marriage between the old and the new...

B U M B L E B E E.

If you're anything like me the first thought that flicked through your mind when you saw this jumper was 'giant pink bumblebee'...that or Sailor Scout. Either way this jumper is all kinds of awesome and lends itself nicely to black and white combinations like this. The sweet pink stripes are pale enough to not cause a commotion but have just the right amount of colour to add a little interest and the wooly mammoth thing it's got going on usually ends with people quietly stroking your arms. I have been on the hunt for the perfect cropped jumper for quite a while, and whilst this may not be the 'grey angora' I had in mind it's certainly a fun little twist on the original. I will say one thing against it though, horizontal stripes are not the most flattering print in the world and I was left feeling a little self-conscious about my frame being 'boxier' than usual.

There are a few things you might notice about the blog; one, I have different hair. After a year of tediously growing it out my head was finally ready for the blunt bob I've been aiming for. Two, it has been relatively quiet around here. I asked my good friend Nusardel to kindly do a post for me when I was unable to due to family commitments and after the success of our first guest post I think it may be something we implement more often. I'd like to think of the silence as the calm before the storm though, not only will I be furiously pumping out my final MBFWA posts but we have lots of new season showings and a very, very exciting announcement to make! Stay tuned guys it's going to be a wild ride.

I have never attended an official Fashion Week before so when I was packing for Sydney I had no idea what to wear, trawling street style blogs didn't seem to do much good either because all I saw were prints, prints, prints. I thought I'd take a punt and pack my favourite cut offs, once they're teamed with heels they don't look as 'Homeless Man circa 95'. As it turned out, even my most fanciest outfit seemed majorly under dressed in comparison to some (I kid you not there was a lady in a ball gown). But atleast on the last day of MBFWA, when my feet felt as if they were dangling over the fires of hell and my eyes just wanted to stay shut, I was comfortable in all my ripped glory.

Normally this isn't something I would wear, I tend to be a bit more lady like and 'polished' but I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out and quite enjoyed a day of feeling like I had a single ounce of street cred. But then again I think the pointy toe heels may have given me away, as well my tendency to squeal a lot.

This utility jacket has surprised me over the past few weeks with its ability to look good with everything and the amount of body heat it keeps in. The temperatures are rapidly dropping and I've been relishing the fact that I can start packing on the layers. This coat is lightweight but also a little bit big on me so I can cram a lot under it and maximize the area of skin being covered by atleast eight layers. I was actually this far away from purchasing thermal underwear the other day...it's really sad guys.

If there is one thing that being at MBFWA has taught me it's that pastels are definitely not over. Going off the collections shown this week, that will be available for purchase come Spring, pastels will be with us all the way through to 2013. Of course I was delighted to hear that this amazing MINKPINK jumper will see me all the way through to next January and keep me looking fresh and 'on trend'. I love the way the beautiful yet subtle colour adds that little edge of interest and allows you to get away with dressing simply with everything else. Simple is a combination that I've been loving lately, I don't think you can possibly go wrong with black leather shorts and simple white shirt, and once you've got the basics nailed you can simply add coloured jackets to give it that extra omph.
I hope you've all been enjoying my coverage of MBFWA so far! I haven't had a lot of time to do big write ups and reviews yet, but I promise they're coming and in the mean time there are plenty of tweets to keep you satisfied. I'm actually thinking of doing some fun trend reporting which is something I've never tried before so I'm looking forward to sharing that all with you. Hoping your weeks of all been as fun as mine, stay tuned for plenty of updates in the next few days!

Oh wow. That's really all I can say about my first days spent at Australian Fashion Week. Two days of fashion shows, rubbing shoulders with the industry's elite and of course aching feet. Sorry for my blog silence, but in my defense I have been incredibly present on twitter, facebook and instagram and if you haven't been following then technically I'm the one who should be offended.

I can't get over how much I adore this colour combination, something about black, mustard and red just goes so well together and when it came to putting this combination together I couldn't go past my favourite H&M skirt. I picked this skirt up over a year ago and I am surprised at its lasting power, normally when you find statement pieces like this they last a season max, but in a stroke of luck this skirt keeps seeing me through season after season. I have a feeling it will be one of those amazing finds that you keep forever and ever.
As you can see this is a post about what I wore to MBFWA and not the shows in store, to avoid making the blog really image heavy I've set up a temporary tumblr account for all our show coverage. I have come to the conclusion that jeans look terrible on me. And no this isn't some pubescent 'I hate my body whinge', most of the time I'm quite happy with how I look, but something just goes awry as soon as that blue denim slips over my legs. Maybe it's because these are really cheap and badly made jeans, I honestly don't know, all I can tell you is they make me look misshaped and I don't like it. Every girl will swear that all wardrobes need a pair of blue jeans, well from this day forward I am taking a stand against the blue demon. Jeans be gone!

Denim rant aside, in other, much more exciting news Fashion Week officially starts tomorrow I'm all packed and raring to go with a whopping five shows tomorrow and a few meetings thrown into the mix too. If you're around the OPT in Circular Quay tomorrow come say hello, I'll be the one running around like a chicken with my head chopped off but hopefully I'll look like a well dressed maniac.
