Top picture; My favourite akubra hat to keep myself from burning to a crisp, the comfiest Rubi flats ever for running frantically between shows, some acid bright lipstick for day wear, pretty smelling Marc Jacobs, invites to get into the shows are fairly vital, a conversation-starting necklace to break the ice with strangers, business cards, pretty holder for said business cards, green tinted glasses....just because, some sultry red nail polish because it goes with everything and lastly my diary for jotting down notes for blog posts later.
Bottom picture; The comfiest heels I own for the hours upon hours of 'uprightness', trusty wallet, Hans Christian Anderson for those long waits between shows, bucket loads of tea to relax with at night, my iPhone which is going to be a permanent extension of my arm, favourite LeSpecs to protect my eyeballs, pen for all those quickly scribbled notes and last but not least my diary without which I would be doomed.
Inspired by my friend Nusardel, I have decided to show you all some of my first attempts at flat lay images. They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped because the lighting in my room is shocking, but try to ignore that.
Today the fact that Fashion Week is just over a week away truly hit me so I decided to do two 'Survival Kits' for you, these are the few items (apart from clean underwear) that I will be absolutely reliant on throughout the week. I've been scouring blogs that provided coverage last year trying to pick up some handy hints, so far I've discovered you should A) Take your own water B) Take snacks C) Take emergency flats D) Be prepared to run lots. Even though I don't have a super packed schedule I do have a couple of back to back shows and I just know it's going to be lots of running to get to everything on time, I've never been one of those girls you can run in heels so you can guarantee I'll have a pair of flats tucked inside my bag at all times. I know I keep saying this but I am truly so excited to be going, I don't think it's quite sunk in that in just over a week I'll be 'rubbing shoulders' with the biggest names in Australian fashion. Exciting times for me and for Wrinkle In Time Vintage, and you're all coming along for the ride. Hopefully it won't be too bumpy.
I'm so excited for you! Thank you for involving us by letting us see your preparation! I think you've picked great items to take with you! What bag will you be carrying to fit everything in?
