G E O M E T R I C.

Shorts; Mossman. Top; O'Neil. Shoes; Unknown. Necklace; Vintage.

Lately I've been growing really fond of pieces that are either really sharply tailored, or have a pattern that features sharp lines, which is the main reason that I melted for these amazing Mossman shorts that and the amazing deep blue. I was really quite struck by just how much the sharp triangular pattern mirrored the stark, sleek lines and Melbourne's sky line and I really wanted to try and shoot these shorts somewhere that you could actually see the city in the background but time, and the laws of gravity, unfortunately did not allow it. So I'll just have to make do with these few shots I hurriedly took and a complimentary high rise shot so you can see the similarity I'm talking about. I've always said that if I didn't want to work in fashion I'd work in architecture or interior design, because really when you think about it the two are not all that dissimilar. Architects work towards building something that is practical, durable, useful and in most cases aesthetically pleasing and really this is all designers do, sometimes they just forgo the practical part. But anyway I'm getting completely off track so I'm going to stop myself there, my point was I love these shorts and I'm so sad they had to go back to the Mossman store where some lucky lady will pick them up and take them home. I just hope when she does take them home she understands the double dimensions within these shorts awesome shorts and a clever metaphorical image of Melbourne's sky line.
