I have never really considered myself to be 'cool'. In fact I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit of a dork, I read a lot, I spend far too much time indoors, and I think that 12am is an hour reserved only for sleeping and not for 'partying'. But I will say that when I wear this coat, I do feel slightly cooler than I actually am. With it's faux fur, suede and 'oh-so-seventies vibe, I feel a little bit like Penny Lane from 'Almost Famous'...that is until I trip down the stairs and all illusions are well and truly shattered. I got this coat for $6 from a charity store and had originally bought it for my mum, but after seeing it on, I quickly decided I was going to politely ask for it back (aka; steal it from her cupboard when she isn't home). And when the weather turned positively foul today I was really glad I did, the faux fur collar is perfect for snuggling into when the wind picks up, and the trusty suede gave a teensy bit of water proofing when the heavens opened up and drowned us all. Gotta love something that's versatile and down right cool right?
We've got some very exciting things coming up, thing which will result in free stuff for you guys, so keep your eyes peeled and all will be revealed shortly. Also a quick thankyou to my lovely friend Erin from My Mothers Diamond Ring for taking all these shots for me.
One of your best outfits for sure:) I can see why you love the coat...what a fab find.
ReplyDeletea faux fur coat for $6? I'd feel pretty damn cool in that myself (and i'm a hugggeeeeee dork! i've been obsessed with fantasy novels lately, i spend the majority of my time knitting and 12 a.m. is most certainty my bed time :p). it really does looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteWear a long coat over a maxiskirt is pretty difficult, buy it looks really well on you.

i would love to step into your photographs, & be near the sea. i could wear a penny lane inspired coat, & shatter some illusions with my own clumsiness. it's too hot here in texas, to hardly ever wear more than a jacket. :)
