M U S I C

This is a first for WITV, we've never done a guest blog before so we're very excited to introduce to you our first ever guest blogger Amanda from Anthropomorphity. As well as guest blogging for us, Amanda is running a giveaway on her blog where you could win a $20 gift certificate to our online store, so after you read her beautiful post head on over and check her out!

You know those days where you try everything on in your closet and clothes are strewn
all over the room in frustrated piles because nothing seems to look good? I hate those
days; I have them quite often. When it seems like you have no ideas left and no energy to
even try. You’re in a rut and just need some sort of inspiration. Well chances are  you can
find that inspiration in other things in your life- in doing something that you love.

I see my personal style in every passion that I have. Two of my greatest are music and
fashion. Music is my main inspiration gateway of expression and also the background of
my clothes and accessories.

Each piece of clothing is like a note each accessory a dynamic marking, each outfit a
measure and my closet my song. Every note has endless combinations, just like a skirt or
shirt, and can create beautiful masterpieces and I must admit some discordant mistakes as
well. Clothes and music both allow for creativity and both bring joy to life.

When I play piano, or when I sing; whether it be loudly and badly along with the radio
in the car, quietly when I’m alone or strongly with my choir around me; I am inspired.
Music makes me happy and creative and that flows into my clothing. Just how my music
choices of the day reflect my mood, so do my clothes. They are both extensions of who I
am.

Every person needs to express his or her individuality. Many people feel music. Some
people write. Some like my sister are beautifully artistic (I am very jealous) and some are
social butterflies, brightening a room just by walking in and smiling.

You need to channel your passion and creativity to express and be your true self. There is
nothing more important. When you do what you love and are content with your life, that
is when you will shine. Don’t be afraid to not follow trends or break rules. That’s how
discovery occurs. Use the pure joy that comes from doing what you love to inspire your
wardrobe and make your life a beautiful and unique song.

  1. What a lovely post! I feel the same way - but with painting! I wrote about it once: "What I have noticed is how much fashion is an artistic sentiment. I guess that's what makes fashion unique - we wear our art in our own particular style according to our mood, feelings and taste."

Never lose what makes us tick!

  7. I always admire musical people. I learned to play the guitar and I used to sing a lot but I have no ear for music and probably shouldn't try to do anything with music...
